HAZWOPER (40 HOURS)
40 hours of
training for general site workers to fulfill OSHA regulatory
requirements
(29 CFR 1910.120).
Content: Hazard
Classification, Site Characterization, Regulatory Compliance,
Toxicology, Personal Protective Equipment, Medical Surveillance,
Site Control, Safety Plans, Air Monitoring, Engineering Controls, Decontamination, Respiratory Protection, Chemical Protective Clothing, and Emergency Response.
HAZWOPER (24
HOURS)
24 hours of
training for occasional site workers to fulfill OSHA regulatory
requirements (29 CFR 1910.120).
Content:
Hazard Classification, Site Characterization, Regulatory Compliance,
Toxicology, Medical Surveillance, Personal Protective Equipment,
Site Control, Safety Plans, and Decontamination.
HAZWOPER REFRESHER
(8 HOURS)
For those
individuals who participated in the 40-hour or 24-hour HAZWOPER
course. This annual training is required within one year of initial
training. Discussions and review of changes in regulations and
upcoming legislation, as well as other key areas.
HAZARDOUS SITE
SUPERVISOR
Initial training
course for site supervisors and/or managers. 29 CFR 1910.120
mandated by SARA, requires that on-site management and supervisors
directly responsible for, or who supervise employees engaged in
hazardous waste operations shall receive 8 hours additional
specialized training.
HAZARD
COMMUNICATION (4 HOURS)
4-hours of
potential health concerns in the work environment in compliance with
29 CFR 1910.1200.
Content: MSDS,
labels, warning devices, toxicology, regulatory compliance.
FIRST RESPONDER
AWARENESS (4 HOURS)
Content: Recognition and identification of hazardous material incidents and
notification of appropriate agencies or companies.
FIRST RESPONDER
OPERATIONS (8 HOURS)
Content:
Recognition and identification of hazardous material incidents, and
ability to take defensive response actions in an emergency.
HAZARDOUS MATERIAL
TECHNICIAN (24 HOURS)
Content: Specific competencies to respond aggressively to stop the release of
hazardous substances.
INCIDENT
COMMANDER (32 HOURS or 8 HOURS
in addition to at least 24 hours at
the FRO level)
Content: Capability to assume the lead role at a spill, leak or release.
CONFINED SPACE
ENTRY (4 HOURS)
Content: Permits, air monitoring, personal protective equipment,
lockout/tag out, attendant responsibilities, and emergency
procedures.
EXCAVATION/TRENCHING (4 HOURS)
Potential hazards
associated with trenching and shoring as mandated by OSHA.
Content: Soil
classification, benching and sloping and shoring techniques,
monitoring equipment, and personal protective equipment, as well as
recent case studies.

TRANSPORTATION (8 HOURS)
The safe loading,
transportation, and unloading of hazardous materials per 49 CFR.
Content: Hazard
Classification, UN ID numbers, placarding, labeling, manifesting,
and Emergency Response Guidebook.
